A December Deal is Getting Closer

The latest news as of December 7th at 5pm PST, is that lawmakers may pass a spending bill on Wednesday to allow 1 more week of government funding. Without an emergency spending bill, there would be a lapse in government funding that would go into affect this Friday.

Originally it was thought relief funding could be included in this emergency bill, however at the end of the day Monday there were still details on the stimulus relief package to be worked out. Therefore, lawmakers have decided to vote first on the stop gap spending bill while they continue to finalize stimulus package negotiations.

Here's What Would Be In the $908 Billion Stimulus Bill

A bipartisan $908 billion stimulus package currently has the most support and momentum. Although we haven't seen draft legislation yet and all of this is subject to final negotiations.

What's In:

$180 billion for weekly $300 enhanced unemployment benefits
$82 billion for education
$45 billion for transportation, such as airlines
$25 billion in housing assistance
$160 billion in state and local government funding
$288 billion in more Paycheck Protection Program funding
